You are bidding on a copy of "The Exhaustion of the Interaction of
Words: Brainstorming with the ParaMind Brainstorming Program." This
copy is signed by the author.
For over 700 years, philosophers have tried to come up with ways to
create ideas automatically. Early philosophers drew graphs and made
charts when trying to create new ideas. One modern writer has tried to
do this using the computer instead of paper and pen. Since the
mid-1980's, Robert Pearson has been writing on this idea, formulated
by his simple expression, "the exhaustion of the interactions of
words." In 1992, he started ParaMind Brainstorming Software and
started selling software programs that came up with new ideas based on
the theory.
This program belongs to a not well-known class of software called
"brainstorming software." The ParaMind program allows one to work
with language outside of the usual limitations in thinking. It does
this by copying and changing the user's sentence thousands of times in
order to facilitate new ideas. In his book, Pearson describes the
idea as a humanitarian problem solving technique rather than a way to
glorify technology.
The book has a discussion of the brainstorming theory along several
pages of examples of how the program creates texts based on the user's
sentences. By seeing several pages of examples, readers are then left
with their own concept of how the theory works,. From there, readers
can imagine where other areas of exploration with the technique might
lead them. It may even help their problem solving skills without any
use of the software. The software program illustrates the theory so it
is also described in detail.
For anyone with an open mind and a bright outlook on the future, it
should seem obvious that there are many im****tant ideas that we have
not discovered. Can helpful new ideas be discovered by computer-
automated brainstorming? According to this author's theory, yes they
can.
The theory here, called word interaction exhaustion, says that by
creating computer-automated word combinations, many new ideas that can
be expressed with language are created, including helpful, perhaps
even revolutionary ideas. ParaMind Brainstorming software is a tool
that automates these word interactions. For auctions of ParaMind
Software for Windows, Mac or Linux, check our other auctions.
Since the ParaMind Brainstorming Software company started in 1992, it
has received much positive user feedback.
ParaMind was mentioned in the book, "The Age of Spiritual Machines:
When Computers Exceed Human Intelligence," by Ray Kurzweil.
Paramind was also noted in the book "Creative Problem Solving for
Managers: Developing Skills for Decision Making And Innovation," by
Tony Proctor, and in the book, "Ideate with June A Valladares" by June
A Valladares
It was also mentioned in "Root Cause Analysis: Simplified Tools and
Techniques," Second Edition by Bjorn Andersen, Tom Fagerhaug
ParaMind is also mentioned in "Guide to Writing Empirical Papers,
Theses, and Dissertations" by G. David Garson. This book states:
"ParaMind is another type of brainstorming software. It works by
generating new text from your writing, thereby expanding on any idea
based on one of hundreds of built-in related word chains, to which the
writer can add. As such, it goes beyond common "writer's helper"
software that may ask the writer questions related to his or her
subject, flow charting that writer's concepts or generating random
word combinations that provide idea variations typed in by the author.
In ParaMind, a single sentence or paragraph can be expanded and
permuted into up to 100 pages of related statements. In simple "merge"
mode, ParaMind operates as a sort of thesaurus, suggesting substitutes
for words the writer highlights in text. However, in "large merge"
mode, many pages of new, reworded relation****ps are generated,
providing feedback on hundreds of new relation****ps and associations
relevant to the concepts contained in the author's original text."
"This is a MAJOR piece of software!"

Harvard Medical School
"All word merchants need this useful tool."
Charles L. Guatney, Professor Emeritus

Ellensburg, Wa****ngton
"ParaMind lets you take an idea and expand it into multiple related
new ideas. You give it a single input and suddenly you're given
responses that trigger your creativity. It's a powerful and elegant
way to brainstorm concepts and solutions."
Dr. Evan Stark, Ph.D., President. Message Science, Inc.
Here is an example of ParaMind Brainstorming Software in use.
This is just a raw example of how a person could use ParaMind. Since
any character can be added into the ParaMind screen and database,
symbols or chemistry shorthand can be used.
This is the sentence we typed in:
Home appliances that help with cleaning make life a lot easier
These are the sentences ParaMind easily created by merging the
sentence with related Word Chains. The book goes into detail
and includes examples of various word chains.
Home appliances that help with cleaning make life a lot
easier
Home appliances that help with alarm make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with breakfast make life a lot
easier
Home appliances that help with awakening make life a lot
easier
Home appliances that help with cereal make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with showering make life a lot
easier
Home appliances that help with shaving make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with coffee make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with eggs make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with exercising make life a lot
easier
Home appliances that help with fruit make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with going to work make life a lot
easier
Home appliances that help with making the bed make life a lot
easier
Home appliances that help with news make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with drowsiness make life a lot
easier
Home appliances that help with sunrise make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with walking make life a lot easier
Home appliances that help with yawning make life a lot easier
and so on, easily making
hundreds of pages of these
merges.
This book delves into the possibilities that arise when meaningful
word interactions can be generated with ease. Examples of the results
that ParaMind can produce and descriptions of its user-friendly
interface show how new ideas can be generated with computer-automated
brainstorming. Combine this with a history of the concept of word
interaction exhaustion and the underlying philosophy that drove the
author to invent ParaMind Brainstorming software, and the result is a
very fascinating book.
This book retails for $19.95. It is a 195 page softcover with
bibliography. It will be signed by author, and inscribed to anyone
you wish, or if you prefer simply signed.
