I've just learnt that Wilbur Smith came to the UK to sign copies of his
latest best seller earlier this year and am absolutely devastated that
I didn't know beforehand. To me, the man is almost a god (really) and
you may laugh but his books have actually had a big influence on the
way I've led my life since I first read one of his novels almost 30
years ago. To meet him face to face would have been almost unreal. I
doubt there is a bigger fan than myself on this planet and if I was to
be granted just one wish before I die it would be to meet him face to
face. So you can imagine how completely furious I am to have had the
chance and missed it :-)
Oh well, if anyone knows anything about any future visits I'd be
extremely grateful if you could pass it on. Thanks.
