Symbolism & Meaning in "The Crying of Lot 49"

by "Never Enough Money" <emptyshell@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dec 31, 2005 at 06:54 PM

I've read "The Crying of Lot 49" twice now. I sense there's a lot of
symbolism going on but can't quite figure it out. I'd love to hear
comments on the following:
1. Does the existence or non-existence of a secret postal service
correlate to some political statement Pynchon is trying to make?
2. What do the Paranoids add?
3. Is the book about reality and trying to tell what is and isn't?

Cheers!
