I just saw Close to Home. Great discussion of laws on rape and consent.
Wonderful presentation on how to introduce doubt into the burden of doubt
formula. Guy turned out to be the ex husband and she had a history of
liking it rough. The medical examiners testimony were all discounted.
For instance, there was *** and then murder, but the examiner couldn't say
with any certainty that the *** occurred within a certain period of time
of the death, and therefore, that cast doubt that the rape and murder had
to be committed by the same person. The tooth bite expert admitted his
science is accurate to only about 40 percent.
I wasn't even aware of this new show, a Jerry Bruckheimer special.
Turns out it's about a prosecutor who is a new mom. I thought it was
well done and just as thoughtful if not more so than most of the Law
and Orders.
I looked it up on EW.
