Giving Cathy's question a bit more thought after finding the
two movies that use the three-bite scenario as a plot device,
it dawned on me that the biggest thing to hit the vampire
scene in the 1970s was Anne Rice's _Interview with the
Vampire_, which was published in 1976. It's been years since
I read it, so I can't remember whether or not Anne Rice might
have invented the idea and added it to her novels.
Has anyone recently read _Interview with the Vampire_ who
might remember whether or not Rice used that in her story?
