New Orleans landmarks and Katrina

by "R Oxley" <tychounderNO@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 5, 2005 at 01:42 AM

I just read one of the posts mentioning that the writer was wanting word on

Anne Rice' former home on First Street. It doesn't say so in so many
words,
but I think it came through the storm and the floods ok. See the following

link, which describes many landmarks, such as the Commander's Palace,
which
it claims was partially destroyed, but does not specify damage from storm,

levee flooding, or both, or looting:

The re****t is that there was much wind damage to trees throughout the
Garden
District, including on and near First Street and Chestnut.

Saint Louis's Cathedral is still there, as is Bourbon Street.
