Multiple links to full-length professional reviews of the following
books released in the US have been added to http://www.reviewsofbooks.com
in the last week:

"Mr. Sebastian and the Negro Magician" by Daniel Wallace - The
magician in "Mr. Sebastian and the Negro Magician" is Henry Walker,
although there are doubts as to whether he's a Negro or not. He's Mr.
Sebastian's protege in Jeremiah Musgrove's Chinese Circus, although
there's never been anyone Chinese associated with the circus. They
perform in the rural South during the 1950s, and Henry appears to have
graduated from doing tricks to doing real magic. One night Henry is
threatened by three redneck teens and disappears soon after. His
friends, Jenny the Ossified Girl, Rudy the Strong Man, and JJ the
Barker, try to discover what happened to him. The incredible
adventure that had been Henry's life may have even included a meeting
with the devil. Author Daniel Wallace returns again with the magical
realism found in his bestselling "Big Fish." "Mr. Sebastian and the
Negro Magician" has received positive reviews with BookPage saying,
"Like the best magic tricks, 'Mr. Sebastian and the Negro Magician' is
a very clever illusion, and that is the secret of this luminous new
novel's superior value as literature and entertainment."

"The Broken Shore" by Peter Temple - "The Broken Shore" begins with
Melbourne detective Joe Ca****n reassigned to his hometown on the south
Australia coast to recover from injuries suffered in the line of
duty. Ca****n isn't exactly welcomed by the small town police force.
When a wealthy man is murdered in his home, three local aboriginal
teenagers are charged with the crime. Suspecting that there's more to
the story, Ca****n delves deeper against the orders of his superiors.
What he uncovers is divisions in the town that reflect Australia as a
whole, concerning both race and wealth, as well as deeply buried
secrets that explode to the surface. Peter Temple's novel has
received positive reviews as well as the Colin Roderick Award for
Australian writing and the Ned Kelly Award. The Wa****ngton Post says,
"Having read the new novels of Michael Connelly and Martin Cruz Smith,
I have to say that Temple belongs in their company. Australia is a
long way off, but this bloke is world-class."
